Senior Industrial Designer & Design Lead
Charlie is a Senior Industrial Designer who moved to Sydney from the UK in 2014 to join Vert Design. He is interested in the exchange between form and human connection, continuously honing the humanistic and environmental methodology he builds upon today, a means to embody intangible emotional and philosophical entities within the physical. His work considers how objects shape our individual and collective experiences, infusing design with aspirational values and meaning to enrich our everyday environments.
Practising as a consultancy designer has allowed Charlie to contribute to a diverse range of successful projects, collaborating with teams of designers and specialists, and directing design strategy for large organisations and popular brands, and helping design-focused startups launch and compete on a global stage. His work has received international recognition from independent channels and awarding bodies, including; A’ Design Awards, The Dieline Awards, Pentawards, IoM3 Starpack Awards, Yanko Design and Wallpaper*.
In the context of design for commerce, Charlie’s practice is underpinned by the limitless potential for ecological progression, with the belief that design solutions should consider people, planet and business with equal weight, demonstrating the most sustainable solution as the most attractive and profitable option for companies developing new products for today and the future, reframing circularity and material reduction as an opportunity for continuous growth rather than an obstacle to overcome.
