Mid Weight Industrial Designer
Colin has over 9 years of experience as an Industrial Designer within Germany and Australia, and is known for his all rounded artistic and practical skills. His Design Philosophy and feeling for aesthetics is based on German values flavoured with a pinch of emotion. He has experience designing, developing and manufacturing consumer facing products including medical and life science products, sports equipment, tech products, mobility, motorbike gear and optical systems, as well as wellness goods.
Colin’s artistic training empowers him in creative problem solving and is the cornerstone of his refined sense of colour, shape and proportions. He is able to utilize his intuition to feel into the core opportunities within each project whilst also building a logical framework for the steps ahead. He sees design as a broad mental exercise that requires an understanding into social, cultural and historical backgrounds, as well as the ability to foresee peoples desires and needs in the future. As a multi-passionate Colin draws upon his interests in arts & anatomy, geometry, psychology, physics, music and other creative methods like sculpture and drawing.
Colin enjoys the diversity that industrial design offers. He is skilled at creating analogue and digital sketches as well as CAD models to develop concepts, refine details and engineer components for use and manufacture. He is also an expert at model making, enjoying time spent in the workshop building prototypes to evaluate a designs usability and ergonomic needs. Colin has experience collaborating with engineers, artists and other designers in bringing concepts from idea to life with real world applications.
