Senior Industrial Designer & Design Lead

Roberto’s career as an in house Industrial Designer spans two decades, utilizing his extensive knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes and materials to design and develop well considered solutions. He graduated from the University of Technology Sydney in 2003 and has since worked on some exciting projects within the technology, furniture and everyday consumer product sectors. 

Roberto is a passionate and thoughtful designer with the intent of bringing products into the world that are inherently meaningful and for the better. He enjoys the intimacy that is experienced between people and products and how this interaction can elicit emotions such as a sense of calmness or delight. 

Roberto has a solutions driven process, resolving challenges throughout the design process with depth and attention to detail. His strength is in designing for manufacture, as he has knowledge into the requirements, strengths, limitations and potential applications of many methods including aluminum castings, injection molded parts, extrusions, timberware and electronics. 

Roberto follows the journey of the design process, making decisions with both the user and the environment in mind. He strives to embed sustainability throughout all stages, focusing on creating good design, of high quality and function, as well as make use of ecological principles such as designing for disassembly and using recycled materials. As an experienced designer, Roberto has a great eye for trends, understanding contexts and noticing the evolution of products and the impact this has on how we live our lives.
